Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® recognizes the role of assisted living in America while providing a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to celebrate the individuals they serve while simultaneously educating members of the public about what assisted living truly looks like.
This year, Hudson Grande Senior Living is celebrating the 2022 theme of “joyful moments” from September 11th to September 17th by recognizing how each department plays a role in creating joy for our residents and staff members.
Being a senior living community leader allows me to be involved in every aspect of the life and pulse of the community. I can help make changes where needed to give residents and staff a great experience.
Our team creates joyful moments on a regular basis in our community. We celebrate the small stuff and laugh every day. Where there is laughter, people come to see what is happening, which adds to the moment. We always honor birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions.
I asked Mr. Neil Gray, what brings him the most joy living here at Hudson Grande? Neil said he loves the Happy Hour entertainment. He was once a musician and loves the music provided. His favorite memories, so far, are the Christmas celebrations, before COVID, when Santa Clause came, and the children were so excited. And, of course, all the cookies were amazing, he recalls.
We plan to make National Assisted Living Week special in our community with different department celebrations to include residents, staff, and families. There will be lots of food, fun, and photos for all to enjoy.
