Every year Arrow’s personal and professional development coach, Michael Buckley, asks everyone to pick a “Word of the Year.” The goal is to look inward and consider what we each need more of and what might improve our lives. Sometimes we need more focus or clarity. Sometimes we need more compassion. Sometimes we just need more fun!
Picking a word for both me and my community is a commitment to doing work on yourself and the “we” and “us” work we want to do as a community.
Looking back on 2022, Hudson Grande Senior Living had a very productive and exciting year. We were surveyed by the Ohio Department of Health and found to be deficiency free, and we received Accreditation from the Joint Commission. The first free-standing assisted living community in Summit County, Ohio to have this prestigious accreditation.
Now, looking forward to 2023, what Hudson Grande needs is collaboration. The Hudson team has chosen this word so every department and team member are working together for the same goal. We will also be collaborating with our residents and family members throughout the year to allow transparency. The Hudson team will be in collaboration with the greater community to strive for more awareness of all the services that are provided in our community. Our residents will be assisting with greater community projects and support.
Everything we do will revolve around interdisciplinary communication and collaboration will weave into daily operations of the community.
As for myself, I have chosen the word present. I am choosing to keep my mind open and be present in every situation, so I can fully understand the circumstance and assist with an impactful attitude.
What is YOUR WORD? I hope you will pick one too. What does your life need a little more of in 2023? What does “future you” thank you for working on now? Our words are meant to inspire us. If it is not inspiring, it’s not the right word.
