I believe that TTY Telephone–External would be an excellent technology option for our seniors with hearing loss. Communication is important for their mental health. This telephone allows our seniors who lose their ability to hear to continue to communicate by speaking into the telephone and then reading the response from their loved one. Having a TTY telephone available, provided by the community, would be an invaluable resource to our seniors.
Hearing loss technology has increased communication between families and other interpersonal relationships. It has allowed our residents to engage in more activities in the community, and makes them feel more involved and not as isolated.
